This is getting a little ridiculous. The Twins once again not only got swept, but it was at the hands of the Yankees in a series where the Twins never really showed up. Game one was close but two and three weren’t in a series where the Twins never got going at the plate. Delmon Young went four for twelve and Denard Span went four for thirteen and those were the only Twins to hit above .300 in the series.
The pitching just wasn’t there either. In all three games, the Yankees scored at least five runs. Most of the damage came against the three starters.
Once again, the Twins will have to wait until next year.
